BraceEmbedded or "Bmbed" is a self-consistent Embedded Software Development Framework. Bmbed gives you the base for professional microcontroller applications in C. Bmbed supports different hardware platforms and interfaces. It handles standard tasks which are the same in many embedded software projects:

Executable application base framework (main-loop or RTOS) for a specific microcontroller.
Hardware initialization incl. interrupts and timer.
Network and interfaces.
Low-level and high-level debugging.
Persistent memory handling for specific device data.
Bootloader.
PC program for tests, data control, updates etc.

You get this all with Bmbed. You can focus on your device specific tasks.

Bmbed Requirements and Approach

The easiest way is to get an evaluation board with an appropriate Bmbed microcontroller. You can get also a complete Bmbed package from Eicher Engineering. Additionally you install the according integrated development environment (IDE) for the desired Bmbed microcontroller and for the PC programming on your computer. According the evaluation board the debugger is already included. After that you can open the Bmbed projects directly in the IDE.
